CLIENT OF THE QUARTER
Nikki Hillin, Third Quarter of 2011
Nikki is very special…always positive, hard working, has nerves of steel and possesses one of the brightest smiles on the planet. She is the perfect definition of the word ‘exceptional.’
In her words:
“Fitness has always been an important part of my life. As a child and all through my school years I was very involved in sports, which continued into my college years with Cheerleading and Track. At a very young age I became aware of how important it was to take care of yourself through watching my father deal with significant health issues related to juvenile diabetes. At 37 he went into renal failure and had to have a kidney transplant. Later in life he ended up having several surgeries, amputations and subsequently passed two Christmas’ ago to Cancer. But through all his trials (any there were many) he was my inspiration- he was always positive and had a “never quit” or “give-up” attitude. He was the reason I became a nurse and continue to pursue and instill in my children the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Keath has often said if you put in the work you will see the results. As we all know careers, growing families and crazy schedules get in the way. But I have learned firsthand how important it is to carve out time for fitness. Recently both myself, and 3 year old son had some frightening cancer related scares. In the end, after all the procedures, tests and surgery we are both blessed with a “no cancer” diagnosis. And dealing with these incidents just solidifies how precious life is and how we need to take the time and responsibility to do what we can for our health. Although it doesn’t guarantee a disease free life, it can dramatically help! We should celebrate the fact that we have the ability to have some control over our longevity through health and fitness and then take advantage of it!
Shark Fitness is an amazing program that provides a very real way to accomplish any fitness goals you may have. Keath and his very knowledgeable team simply demand “your best”. It’s not a competition or a race with anyone but yourself, it’s almost like you have your own personal trainer but with a team environment. There are so many “Keath-isms” that can be applied to several aspects of anyone’s life. His famous sayings of “you can do anything for 20 seconds” and “suck it up” have helped challenge me both mentally and physically. There are those days when it is freezing, the ground is wet and cold and for a second you think this is nuts, but then you push through and accomplish what you didn’t know you could…along with a team of other boot campers that share the same mentally tough attitude.
God has blessed me with a wonderful husband (Andy) and 4 beautiful, HEALTHY children, Jake-age 10, Aidan-age 8, Cole-age 3 and Kylee-age 2…who all contribute to a very busy and active household.”
